Seed Grant Call 2026 is now open!
Once a year we award Seed Grants for the development or implementation of participatory Citizen Science projects. Teams of academic researchers from the University of Zurich and citizens can jointly submit their project ideas now until 30 April 2026.
With the Seed Grants we promote the participation and involvement of citizens in science and research and enable the implementation of innovative research projects. Priority is given to project applications that, in addition to the prospect of excellent research, show a societal benefit as well as a high degree of participation in as many phases of the research process as possible.
Teams of at least two persons are eligible to apply: an academic researcher working at UZH and a citizen. Applications can be submitted for up to CHF 40,000. The funds must be used within 12 months of the start of funding. Deadline for project applications is 30 April 2026, 23:59. The decision will be made and communicated in July 2026. The funded projects will then start individually until the end of 2026.
